Interim Rabbi

Paul Resnick

Rabbi Resnick began serving in his role as Kane Street’s Interim Rabbi on August 1, 2021. Even prior to that date, he visited the shul on a number of occasions, and met with lay leaders and staff in order to get to know the Kane Street community, discuss High Holiday planning, and familiarize himself with our operations.

Prior to serving at Kane Street, Rabbi Resnick led Camp Ramah in the Berkshires for 32 years, first as Director and then as Senior Director of Engagement and Planning. Altogether he spent 40 summers at Ramah. The Camp expanded to become more inclusive, serving children and teens with diverse needs, socio-economic backgrounds, and family structures. It recently began the groundbreaking Breira B’Ramah program, which integrates all campers.

The Rabbi and his wife Martha raised three children—Rena [and Elan] Sherman, Joey [and Alana] Resnick, and Dori Resnick in Teaneck where we are active members of Congregation Beth Sholom, where he sits on the Board—the first rabbi asked to serve. He also continues to chair the Strategic Development Committee, and founded the Children and Teen Safety Committee at Beth Sholom.

At the end of 2020, a terrible year for humanity, turned out to be a good year for the Resnick clan: Martha and Rabbi Resnick became grandparents to two grandchildren.
