Send honey to friends and family for Rosh Hashana to benefit our Synagogue and Hebrew School. Katelyn’s Honey will send an 8 oz jar of honey to each recipient with Holiday Greetings and the words “All proceeds benefit Kane Street Synagogue,” as well as a label indicating that the gift is from you!

Kane Street’s Zoe Martin del Campo and other members of the Miftan class are featured in this 3-minute documentary by the Coalition of Innovating Congregations. Zoe has been an active member of the Miftan class and an enthusiastic participant in our L’Tzedek service learning experiences. Zoe and Kane Street Synagogue were chosen as the subject of the film out of some 18 congregations because our program is exemplary. Every month Zoe and her classmates put their Jewish learning to work in different projects near and far.

A Message from Kane Street Synagogue President Harry Chevan

Dear Fellow Members:
In accordance with the attached election procedures, I have appointed a Nominating Committee consisting of Tracy Makow as chairperson and Charlene Visconti, Laurie Lieberman and Al Romano to propose nominees for the positions of Trustees and Officers of the Congregation. As set forth in, and subject to the election procedures, any synagogue member may volunteer to be nominated, or may be nominated by any other member (accompanied by a written acceptance by the nominee) in a letter directed to me. In the alternative, a synagogue member may contact any member of the Nominating Committee directly. All nominations must be received by the Synagogue office or a member of the Nominating Committee no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday May 1, 2013. Nominations may be e-mailed to nominations@kanestreet.org.

The Annual Meeting of the congregation will take place on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at which voting for Trustees and Officers will take place. All officers are elected for a term of one (1) year, and Trustees are elected for a three (3) year term. A trustee must be a member for two years at the time of the annual meeting.

You will receive a notice in advance of the meeting listing the names and brief biographies of the nominees. Votes may be cast at the meeting in person, or prior to the meeting by proxy. I encourage all members to get involved in this process and we look forward to your participation.
